Sacramento

The 5th grade just had a great trip to Sacramento. We enjoyed seeing the Capitol, Railroad Museum, Sutter’s Fort and of course, visiting Coloma and panning for gold. Our tour guide, Jerry was awesome and very knowledgeable about almost everything. We had as many parents as kids and they enjoyed it as well.

In class we are also getting started on our bottle rockets. The students are in groups of three trying to figure what will make their rocket go the highest. They are discussing and researching if the amount of pressure or the amount of water make a difference. Some are even testing the fins. In the next couple of weeks we will see what they come up with.

January

It has been a busy month already. Each student presented a report on the colony they have been researching. We are now learning about the Revolutionary War. To go along with that we just visited Knott’s Berry Farm’s Independence Hall. We interviewed Ben Franklin and heard how people lived in the 1700’s by Abigail Adams. We also watched the Storm in Philadelphia and learned what a sacrifice others made for our freedom. After our brains were filled with valuable information we went across to Knott’s and went on a few rides. It was such an enjoyable day!
